Ramadan 2027 Dates, Fasting Times, and What to Prepare
When Ramadan 2027 is expected to begin and end, how fasting times actually work, and the guides that matter once the crescent is seen. Sighting dependent.
Ramadan 1448 is expected to open on the evening of Sunday 7 February 2027. The first fast is often Monday 8 February. Eid al Fitr is expected around 8 or 9 March. Those are calendar projections from Umm al Qura and IslamicFinder, written in August 2026. They are not a sighting.
Do not print a city timetable from this page. Do not fast on a screenshot. Fast when the night your community follows has begun.
The month starts when the crescent is seen, or when your trusted authority completes thirty days of Sha'ban. An app that guessed in January is not that authority.
The expected window, said plainly
Islamic months begin at Maghrib. If 1 Ramadan is Monday 8 February, the first night of the month is the evening of Sunday 7 February, after sunset. You eat that night as Ramadan. You wake for suhoor. You hold the first fast on Monday.
Umm al Qura, the civil calendar of Saudi Arabia, currently lists:
- 1 Ramadan 1448: Monday 8 February 2027
- 1 Shawwal 1448 (Eid): Tuesday 9 March 2027
That would be a 29 day Ramadan. IslamicFinder publishes the same first day and the same Eid. Both sources note that Saudi religious authorities often adjust the printed calendar after reported crescents. A 30 day month starting 8 February would push Eid to Wednesday 10 March. A community that starts a day later moves everything with it.

Who decides where you live
The same Monday is not guaranteed in every country. The method is the story. The date is the last line.

Follow the masjid you actually pray in. A family group chat that picked a date in December is not a hilal committee.
What "fasting time" actually means
There is no third timetable called "Ramadan time."
- End of suhoor is true dawn. That is the start of Fajr. Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct from the night, then complete the fast until nightfall (Qur'an 2:187).
- Imsak on some calendars is a caution, often ten or fifteen minutes before Fajr. It is a buffer some communities added. It is not a second revelation.
- Iftar is Maghrib. Nightfall. Not 6:47 because a cousin is still plating rice.
If two apps disagree by twenty minutes, the question is which Fajr method they use, not which one "feels more spiritual." That argument already lives in our guides to when Fajr starts and prayer-time methods. The Ramadan version of the same clock is suhoor and Fajr.
We will not paste a Paris or Houston widget here. IslamicFinder and the big prayer apps already own that surface. A fake table on a journal page is how a smaller site gets itself treated like a content farm.
What the month is for
"O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain taqwa." (Qur'an 2:183)
Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down (Qur'an 2:185). When it enters, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained (Sahih al-Bukhari 1899). Whoever fasts it in faith, seeking the reward, his previous sins are forgiven. The same report says the same of standing the Night of Qadr (Sahih al-Bukhari 1901).
None of that requires a city widget. It requires a floor: the five prayers, a fast you can keep, a Quran you can actually open, a phone that does not eat Maghrib.

When is Eid al Fitr 2027?
Around 8 or 9 March 2027 if the month runs 29 days from 8 February. A 30 day month, or a late start, moves Eid. Wait for 1 Shawwal to be announced.
Is the first night the same as the first fast?
No. The Islamic day begins at Maghrib. The first night is the evening the month is declared. The first fast is the daylight that follows.
Why do countries disagree by a day?
Some authorities use local crescent sighting. Some follow Saudi. Some, including FCNA, use calculation. Indonesia waits for an isbat sitting. Morocco sights for itself. None of these methods is a personality test. Follow the community whose prayer you attend.
Can I get iftar time for my city on this page?
No. Iftar is Maghrib on the clock you already trust. We will not invent a widget. Use your masjid timetable, or a method you have actually checked against how prayer times are calculated.
When are the last ten nights in 2027?
If the first fast is 8 February, the last ten nights are expected to open around the evening of 26 or 27 February, and to run into the first days of March. Odd nights live in that window. We do not name a single date for Laylat al Qadr. The dedicated guide is here.
