Expected 1 Dhul Hijjah: Friday 7 May 2027. Arafah Saturday 15 May. Eid al Adha Sunday 16 May. Tashreeq 17 to 19 May. None of this is confirmed until your local hilal committee speaks.
Dhul Hijjah 1448 is expected to open on Friday 7 May 2027. The Day of Arafah is Saturday 15 May. Eid al Adha is Sunday 16 May. The days of tashreeq run Monday 17 May through Wednesday 19 May. Those are Umm al Qura civil dates, written in August 2026. They are not a sighting.
Do not print an Eid prayer time from this page. Do not fast Arafah on a screenshot. Fast and pray when the night your community follows has begun.
The month starts when the crescent is seen, or when your trusted authority completes thirty days of Dhu al Qa'dah. An app that guessed in January is not that authority.

Who decides where you live
The same Sunday is not guaranteed in every country. Hajj binds to Saudi's ninth and tenth. Your Eid binds to the community whose prayer you attend.

Follow the masjid you actually pray in. A family group chat that picked a date in March is not a hilal committee.
In 2024 and 2025, Morocco, Indonesia, and Pakistan differed from Saudi by a day on Eid al Adha. In 2026 the alignment was wider. The pattern holds: local sighting can run a day late. Civil calculation can match Umm al Qura.
Why French calendars disagree: 16 or 17 May 2027
French search for aïd el kebir 2027 is genuinely split. Some calendars print Sunday 16 May. Others print Monday 17 May. This is not a conspiracy, and we are not standing alone. Two conversion habits, both common.
First mechanism: completing Dhu al Qa'dah as thirty days. If 1 Dhul Hijjah is pushed to Saturday 8 May, Arafah slides to the 16th, Eid to the 17th, and tashreeq to the 18th through the 20th. That is a tabular count, or an old conversion library. It is not the Umm al Qura print.
Second mechanism: a crescent-age cutoff. Conjunction is Thursday 6 May 2027, about 10:58 Universal Time. At Mecca sunset the moon is still young, under nine hours on some tables. Anyone who requires a minimum age for "visibility" pushes the first of the month to Saturday. Anyone who runs the Umm al Qura civil rule (conjunction before sunset, moonset after sunset, no requirement of a seen crescent) opens Friday 7 May.
We are on the civil print: Friday 7 May for the first of the month, Sunday 16 May for Eid. We keep the same sentence we keep in Ramadan: the court may advance a day or delay a day. From 1443 through 1447 the Dhul Hijjah announcement matched the print. 1448 has not been announced. The expected sighting night is the evening of 6 May 2027.

On the Umm al Qura civil print: Sunday 16 May 2027, 10 Dhul Hijjah 1448. That is a printed calendar, not a sighting. Confirm with your masjid after the crescent. A community that starts a day later moves Eid with it. Do not fast that day, and do not slaughter before the Eid prayer.
When is the Day of Arafah 2027?
On the same print: Saturday 15 May 2027, 9 Dhul Hijjah 1448. If you are not at Hajj, fasting it is recommended (Muslim 1162). A pilgrim does not fast it. Fast the ninth your community follows, not a screenshot from Arafah. If your crescent is a day late, the ninth moves to Sunday.
Why do I see 16 May on one page and 17 May on another?
French search is genuinely split. Some calendars print Sunday 16 May with Umm al Qura. Others print Monday 17 May. One path: counting Dhu al Qa'dah as thirty days. The other: rejecting the 6 May crescent as too young. Later sighting can move both.
Is Eid a public holiday?
In many countries yes, one day or more with tashreeq. France and Belgium are not always so at work; check April. A civil holiday does not create the ruling and does not cancel it. Pray Eid even if you go in after the khutbah.
How many days does Eid al Adha last?
Sacrifice is on the 10th. Tashreeq is the 11th, 12th, and 13th: eating, drinking, and remembrance (Muslim 1141). Some schools close slaughter at sunset of the 12th, some at the 13th. Ask your community for the last hour. Do not fast these days.
Who do I follow if countries differ by a day?
Hajj binds to Saudi's 9th and 10th, because the standing is there. Your prayer, Eid, and Arafah fast bind to the community whose prayer you attend. Morocco often runs a day later. A family chat in March is not a hilal committee.
