Ramadan 2027 Dates, Prayer Times, and Taraweeh

Expected first night: evening of Sunday 7 February 2027. First fast often Monday 8 February. Eid Tuesday 9 March if the month is 29 days, Wednesday 10 March if it is 30. None of this is confirmed until your local hilal committee speaks.

Ramadan 1448 is expected to open on the evening of Sunday 7 February 2027. The first fast is often Monday 8 February. Eid al Fitr is expected Tuesday 9 March if the month runs 29 days, or Wednesday 10 March if it runs 30. Those are calendar projections from Umm al Qura and IslamicFinder, written in August 2026. They are not a sighting.

Do not print a city timetable from this page. Do not fast on a screenshot. Fast when the night your community follows has begun.

The month starts when the crescent is seen, or when your trusted authority completes thirty days of Sha'ban. An app that guessed in January is not that authority.

The dates at a glance

Islamic months begin at Maghrib. If 1 Ramadan is Monday 8 February, the first night of the month is the evening of Sunday 7 February, after sunset. You eat that night as Ramadan. You wake for suhoor. You hold the first fast on Monday.

Umm al Qura, the civil calendar of Saudi Arabia, currently prints a 29 day month: 1 Ramadan on Monday 8 February, 1 Shawwal on Tuesday 9 March. IslamicFinder publishes the same pair and notes that Saudi religious authorities often adjust the printed calendar after reported crescents.

A page that already tells you "30 days, Eid on 10 March" has chosen one of two live possibilities and sold it as fact. We will not. We will edit this page the day the crescent is announced.

Who decides where you live

The same Monday is not guaranteed in every country. The method is the story. The date is the last line.

This is the correspondence for a month that begins with the fast of Monday 8 February. It is a date list, not an imsakiya. There is no Fajr or Maghrib column because we will not invent an adhan for your street.

What "fasting time" actually means

An empty clay bowl waiting on dark cloth under a thin band of Maghrib gold.

There is no third timetable called "Ramadan time."

  • End of suhoor is true dawn. That is the start of Fajr. Eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct from the night, then complete the fast until nightfall (Qur'an 2:187). The Prophet ﷺ said: take suhoor, for in suhoor there is a blessing (Sahih al-Bukhari 1923).
  • Imsak on some calendars is a caution, often ten or fifteen minutes before Fajr. It is a buffer some communities added. It is not a second revelation.
  • Iftar is Maghrib. Nightfall. Not 18:47 because a cousin is still plating rice. The wording he ﷺ used at that first sip lives in our iftar dua.

If two apps disagree by twenty minutes, the question is which Fajr method they use, not which one "feels more spiritual." That argument already lives in our guides to when Fajr starts and prayer-time methods. The Ramadan version of the same clock is suhoor and Fajr.

We will not paste a Paris or Houston widget here. A fake table of clock times on a journal page is how a smaller site gets itself treated like a content farm. What we can give you honestly is the length of the fast on the expected first day, using one named method, so you can plan sleep and work.

Ramadan 2027 falls in late northern winter. Days are short in Europe, the Maghreb, and North America. They are long in the southern summer. The table below is Fajr to Maghrib on Monday 8 February 2027, using the Muslim World League Fajr angle (the convention many European mosques print). It is a length. It is not your mosque's adhan. Many French pages quote "about 13 hours 30 minutes" for Paris on that day. That number is closer to a mid-March fast, or to a confusion with some other pair of times. MWL gives Paris about 11 hours 35 minutes on 8 February, lengthening toward about 13 hours 10 minutes by 8 March as the days grow.

CityApprox. Fajr to Maghrib on 8 Feb
Paris11h 35m
London11h 28m
Casablanca12h 11m
Algiers12h 04m
Istanbul11h 55m
New York11h 56m
Cairo12h 18m
Riyadh12h 29m
Karachi12h 28m
Lagos13h 04m
Jakarta13h 33m
Sydney15h 04m

Sydney shortens toward about 14 hours by the last fast. Paris lengthens. Your masjid timetable wins every argument with this table.

The five prayers as the day's hinges

The fast does not replace the five. Illness can lift a fast for a day. Ordinary tiredness cannot lift Dhuhr.

  • Fajr. Dawn prayer, and the door that closes suhoor. Protect it after a long taraweeh. A night of qiyam that spends Fajr is a bad plan.
  • Dhuhr. Midday, on an empty stomach. A short prayer in a stairwell still counts. The stockroom at 12:40 is the worship.
  • Asr. The prayer the fast most often steals. Arrive at the first chance in the window, not the last.
  • Maghrib. Iftar, then two or three minutes of prayer, then the feast. Dates or water first. A table that cannot wait for Maghrib has already become the master of the hour.
  • Isha. Then taraweeh, if you stand. The fard is still the fard. Do not skip Isha to rest for the extra.

The full working of a tired month is salah during Ramadan. If the phone is the thing that eats Asr, Deeny can hold the noisy apps from the adhan until you have prayed. The tally stays on the device.

Taraweeh, after Isha

Taraweeh is the night leaning in after Isha. It is nafl. Missing it is not a sin. The Prophet ﷺ said: whoever stands Ramadan in faith, seeking the reward, his previous sins are forgiven (Sahih al-Bukhari 2009). He did not say "whoever completes twenty."

  • When. After the obligatory Isha. The clock moves later with Maghrib as the month runs. Your mosque announces the start. There is no universal "taraweeh time" for a country.
  • How many. Eight and twenty both have a home. Aisha described his ﷺ night as not going beyond eleven rak'ah, including Witr (Sahih al-Bukhari 1147; Sahih Muslim 738a). The communal twenty grew from the time of Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), when the people were gathered behind one reciter. Follow the imam of the place you are in. At home, pray what leaves Fajr alive.
  • Khatam. Many mosques recite a juz a night so the Quran is completed in the month. That is a beautiful custom. It is not a condition of a valid taraweeh. A short surah you know, prayed present, is better than a long portion you resent.
  • Home. Valid. Two by two, then Witr. Women may pray at home, and may also pray in a dignified masjid row. Both are doors.

The steps, the Witr question, and the twenty-minute worker's night are in how to pray taraweeh.

What the month is for

"O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain taqwa." (Qur'an 2:183)

Ramadan is the month in which the Quran was sent down (Qur'an 2:185). When it enters, the gates of heaven are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained (Sahih al-Bukhari 1899). Whoever fasts it in faith, seeking the reward, his previous sins are forgiven. The same report says the same of standing the Night of Qadr (Sahih al-Bukhari 1901).

None of that requires a city widget. It requires a floor: the five prayers, a fast you can keep, a Quran you can actually open, a phone that does not eat Maghrib.

Before the crescent

The daily fast

The prayer that must not collapse

The Book, and the last ten

If this is your first month with a new salah habit, start with the daily prayer system and the Fajr alarm. The crescent will not invent a person you refused to practice being.

The next seasonal desk is Dhul Hijjah 2027: Arafah, Eid al Adha, and the days of tashreeq, written the same way.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does Ramadan 2027 start?

The working window is the evening of Sunday 7 February 2027 for the first night, and Monday 8 February for the first fast (Umm al Qura and IslamicFinder). Confirm with your local masjid after the crescent.

When is Eid al Fitr 2027?

Tuesday 9 March 2027 if the month runs 29 days from Monday 8 February. Wednesday 10 March if it runs 30. A community that starts later moves Eid with it. Wait for 1 Shawwal to be announced.

Is the first night the same as the first fast?

No. The Islamic day begins at Maghrib. The first night is the evening the month is declared. The first fast is the daylight that follows.

Why do countries disagree by a day?

Some authorities use local crescent sighting. Some follow Saudi. Some, including FCNA, use calculation. Indonesia waits for an isbat sitting. Morocco sights for itself. None of these methods is a personality test. Follow the community whose prayer you attend.

Is there a day by day imsakiya on this page?

There is a day by day date calendar above. There is no column of clock times. Iftar is Maghrib on the clock you already trust. Use your masjid timetable, or a method you have actually checked against how prayer times are calculated.

How long is the fast in France or Europe?

On the expected first day, about eleven and a half hours in Paris and London with the Muslim World League Fajr angle, closer to twelve hours in Casablanca and Algiers. The fast lengthens as February turns into March. Treat the table as planning, not as an adhan.

When is taraweeh, and is it 8 or 20?

After Isha, at the time your mosque announces, which drifts later with Maghrib. Eight and twenty both have a home in the ummah. Pray with your imam. At home, pray what you can perfect. The guide is here.

When are the last ten nights in 2027?

If the first fast is 8 February, the last ten nights are expected to open around the evening of 26 or 27 February, and to run into the first days of March. Odd nights live in that window. We do not name a single date for Laylat al Qadr. The dedicated guide is here.
